Privacy Notice
Effective October 30, 2026 · United States
Who controls your information
Battle Mic, based in the United States, is the data controller for personal information handled to provide BattleMic. For privacy questions or requests, email Wearebattlemic@gmail.com.
Information we collect and why
- Account information: email, sign-in credentials, username, display name and profile details, to create accounts, authenticate users and provide profiles.
- Community content: avatars, live audio/video, battle participation, votes, comments, follows, invitations and fundraising links/descriptions, to run battles, display content and connect artists with their audiences. Live media is transmitted to provide the live experience; this notice does not promise that every performance is recorded.
- Membership information: subscription status, provider identifiers and confirmed trial/payment dates, to manage benefits and billing support. Stripe handles checkout and payment information under its privacy notice. Battle Mic does not receive your full card details.
- Notifications and device information: alert history, email delivery information and, if you enable push, a browser push token, to deliver account and community alerts.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser/device information, interactions and error logs, to keep the service secure, prevent fraud, diagnose problems and improve reliability.
- Support and AI inputs: messages you send us and information submitted for any AI coaching, to respond to requests and provide that feature.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on contract performance to provide your account and membership, legitimate interests for security, reliability and support, consent for optional notifications or non-essential tracking where required, and legal obligations for required records. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Public information and sharing
Artist profiles, battle listings, participants, comments, follower relationships, viewer counts and artist fundraisers are public and may be visible to signed-out visitors. Do not put private information in public content. Private subscription/customer details are not added to public artist profiles; subscriber badges indicate membership entitlement.
We share information with service providers for hosting, account authentication, live media delivery (including Agora), email, optional push notifications and AI processing where those features are used. Stripe receives information necessary for subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance, fraud prevention and invoicing. We may share information with professional legal/accounting advisers or authorities where required by law, and with other users as needed for public content and community interactions. External donation providers have their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and security
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, subject to required records and backup retention. Contact us for account or content deletion requests. We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, but no system is completely secure.
Cookies and browser storage
Essential cookies or browser storage maintain your sign-in session, preferences and optional push registration. You can clear or block storage through your browser, although doing so may sign you out or affect functionality. Optional push alerts can be disabled from Alerts or your browser’s notification settings. If we introduce non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will provide notice and consent controls where required; optional tracking will not be enabled without legally required consent.
Your choices and rights
You can edit profile information and manage membership in profile settings. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of your information, object to certain uses or withdraw consent. Send requests to Wearebattlemic@gmail.com; we may verify your identity and will respond within applicable legal deadlines. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. You may also complain to your local privacy authority.
International processing and children
We operate in the United States, and our providers may process information in other countries. Where legally required, we use applicable transfer safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions. BattleMic is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Updates
We may update this notice as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
